Bark Canoe: The Stitches at Either Extremity

The method below is my own reconstruction.

1. Point left index toward the right, and hang loop from it. Grab hanging loop with right hand, a short distance from left index.

2. Move right hand toward you and up, so that it is over left index. Give right-hand loop a full (360-degree) counter-clockwise twist, and then move right hand to the right and down, so that left index passes through loop, and hooked strings remain on top of left index.

3. Repeat step 2 several times, until no more space remains on left index. (Each repetition puts a new loop around left index.)
