The method is my own reconstruction, based on a figure in [Laile 2006] reconstructed by Mark Sherman (figure 76, Armogomáth, The War).
1. Pick up loop on thumbs, so that the near thumb string is a short string running straight across, and the far thumb string is a long loop hanging down. Do not pull tight.
2. Pass left little finger toward you over near thumb string, and into right thumb loop from below, picking up the right near thumb string. Pass right little finger toward you over right near thumb string, and into left thumb loop from below, picking up left near thumb string.
3. Twist thumb loops a full twist away from you. Twist little finger loops a full twist away from you.
4. Insert thumbs into little finger loops from below, and pick up near little finger strings.
5. Insert index fingers into thumb loops from below, and pick up far thumb strings (not the palmar strings).
7. Release thumb loops.
8. Pass thumbs under index loops, and insert into little finger loops from below. With a full twist away from you, pick up far little finger strings and return.
9. Release little finger loops.
10. Transfer index loops to little fingers.
11. Insert thumbs into little finger loops from below, and pick up near little finger strings.
12. Insert index fingers into thumb loops from below, and pick up far thumb strings (not the palmar strings).
13. Caroline extension.
14. Repeat steps 7 through 13.
15. Repeat steps 7 through 13 again.
Steps 7 through 13 can be repeated more times; each repetition adds another set of triangles to the figure.
