1. Opening A.
2. Release little finger loops.
3. Pass little fingers over index loops, insert into thumb loops from below, and return with far thumb strings.
4. With thumb and index of right hand, remove left index loop from left index, put it over all five fingers of left hand, and let it slip down to left wrist. Repeat on other hand.
5. With right thumb and index, grab left far thumb string and left near little finger string, and remove left hand from all loops. Then reinsert left thumb and little finger into their former loops, and release strings held by right thumb and index. Repeat on other hand.
These instructions are the first few steps of [Davidson 1941]'s figure XXIV ("Bed"). The remaining steps produce a figure almost the same as Honey: The Cells of the Comb (a few string crossings are different):
6. Transfer thumb loops to indexes.
7. A loop hangs down below the figure on each side. Insert thumbs toward each other into these loops, and pick them up by turning them toward you and up.
8. Release index loops.
9. Insert thumbs into little finger loops from below, and return with near little finger strings.
10. Insert indexes into thumb loops from below, and return with far thumb strings (not the palmar strings).
11. Caroline extension.
12. Move right hand up, and turn it so that right index points left. At the same time move left hand down, and turn it palm toward you, with left index pointing right.
