Roth illustrates this figure twice, once under the name "Rain," and once under the name "Two Tomahawks."
1. Opening A.
2. Insert thumbs, middle, ring, and little fingers from below into index loops, and let them slip down to wrists.
3. Insert left thumb into left little finger from below, and return with near little finger string.
4. Insert left index into left thumb loop from below, and return with far thumb string (not the palmar string).
5. With the right thumb and index, grab the two left near thumb strings, close to the left thumb, and withdraw the left hand from all its loops except the wrist loops. Keeping the loops pinched between the right thumb and index, let the former left thumb-little-finger loop hang from the right thumb, and the former left thumb-index loop hang from the right index.
6. Pass the left thumb to the right into the loop hanging from the right thumb, and the left little finger to the right into the loop hanging from the right index. Release the loops held by the right thumb and index.
7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 on other hand.
8. Repeat steps 3 through 7 twice.
9. Remove wrist loops from wrists. Do not pull strings tight until figure is complete.
10. Insert thumbs into little finger loops from below, and return with near little finger strings.
11. Insert indexes into thumb loops from below, and return with far thumb strings (not the palmar strings).
12. Caroline extension.
These instructions are from [Davidson 1941], figure XIX.
