Turtle: The Scutum

This is the same as [Jayne 1906]'s figure "Ten Men." The method (from [Davidson 1941], figure XXXV ["Crocodile"]) differs only trivially from Jayne's method.

1. Opening A.

2. Pass right index away from you over little finger loop, and down behind far little finger string. Pick up far little finger string by twisting index a half-twist toward you and up.

3. Insert left index from below into small upper right index loop, and return with upper right near index string.

4. Release thumb loops.

5. Pass thumbs under index loop, and insert into little finger loops from below. Return with near little finger strings.

6. Pass thumbs into upper index loops from below, and return with upper near index strings.

7. Remove lower thumb loops from thumbs, past upper loops.

8. Release upper index loops.

9. Transfer thumb loops to indexes.

10. Repeat steps 5 through 7.

11. Insert middle fingers into index loops from above, and pick up lower near index strings.

12. Release little fingers.

13. Turn hands so that palms face away from you.
