Two Cockatoos Roosting Side by Side

This method is my own reconstruction, based on [Maude 2001]'s figure 24 ("Ibiya 1, two inland lagoon fish").

1. Opening A.

2. Transfer index loops to thumbs.

3. Insert indexes into upper thumb loops from above, and pick up upper near thumb strings. Release upper loops from thumbs.

4. Pass thumbs over index loops, and insert into little finger loops from below. Return with near little finger strings.

5. Insert indexes into thumb loops from below, return with far thumb strings (not the palmar strings), and release thumb loops.

6. Insert thumbs into lower index loops from below, and then pass them under little finger loops. Pick up far little finger strings, and return through lower index loops. Release little finger loops.

7. Insert little fingers into upper index loops from above, and return with upper near index strings. Release all loops from indexes. Let the strings hang loosely.

8. Insert indexes from above into thumb loops, and return with near thumb strings. Release thumb loops.

9. Pass thumbs under index loops, and insert into little finger loops from below. Return with near little finger strings.

10. Insert thumbs into index loops from below, and return with near index strings.

11. Caroline extension.

To reproduce the exact string crossings of Roth's drawing, Opening A should be done left-handed.
