LLX > Neil Parker > String Figures > Jayne
This is just Jacob's Ladder rotated 90 degrees. [Dickey 1928]'s instructions require two players, but it can easily be made by one player, by laying the figure down, and picking it up again as indicated in step 2 below.
1. Make Jacob's Ladder.
2. It will be noticed that along the straight index string at the top, there are five triangular openings, and likewise along the straight thumb string at the bottom. A second player inserts the fingers of one hand into the five triangles along the straight index string (one finger in each triangle, in the obvious order), and similarly, the fingers of the other hand into the five triangles along the straight thumb string, and removes the figure from the first player's hands.
To dissolve this figure without tangles, release all loops except middle finger loops.
